How does the tentative map calculator work?
The calculator takes the approval date and expiration date of your tentative tract map, then runs the dates against the criteria of five pieces of California legislation. Depending on the dates, a map may be eligible for an automatic time extension.
There are other ways the expiration of a tentative map gets extended. If your map has been previously extended, simply input the dates as given by the extensions.
The “new expiration date” is the date your map would expire after factoring in each piece of legislation.
If you’re not sure what your expiration or approval date is, read this tentative tract map calculator FAQ.
